The 7th Annual Luleå International Film Festival
The 7th Annual Edition of the Luleå International Film Festival took place on September 27th in the picturesque city of Luleå, Sweden. This year, the festival showcased an exciting variety of films across multiple genres, captivating audiences and celebrating the art of storytelling through cinema.
Award Winners Shine
The festival culminated in an award ceremony, where filmmakers and actors came together to celebrate their achievements. Notable winners included:
- The Caretaker: Directed by Luke Tedder, this feature-length film saw lead actor Ben Probert take home the Best Actor award. Probert expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be part of such a memorable event.
- Rickard & Dio: This short film, directed by Felix Norman Linder, featured Johan Berg, who won Best Actor in the short film category. Berg shared his excitement about the recognition and the meaningful connections made during the festival.

- EVERYWHERE: Directed by Kate Ellen Campbell and Claire Ha, producer Catherine Kolomyjec attended with pride as she celebrated their success and looked forward to further projects.
- The Girl & The Horse: Directed by Åsa Rockberg, both Rockberg and lead actress Sunna Rockberg were thrilled with their win, expressing enthusiasm for their future endeavors in filmmaking.
- Guardian Service: Directed by Deniza Shakirzjanova, she shared her happiness about the event and her dedication to continuing her creative journey.
- Boom – Maia Hirasawa’s Japan: This feature documentary, directed by Jonatan Järbel, was well-received, with Järbel highlighting the festival’s role in nurturing filmmakers.
- The Chainsaw Madonna in Canada: Directed by Ann-Charlotte Boholm Wall, she too celebrated her recognition, looking ahead to new projects inspired by her experience at the festival.
